Prayer has always been used in this country for guidance, protection and strength - even before we were a nation or a handful of colonies. The mission of the National Day of Prayer Task Force is to mobilize prayer in America and to encourage personal repentance and righteousness in our culture.
The Black Hills Area Prayer Team, knowing the power of prayer, is encouraging all churches in our area to "adopt a school" for prayer and support. Personal contact and prayer for the staff and students can make an astounding difference in the lives of our children, their teachers, and our community.
Adopting a school can mean many things, but the end result is a partnership with the school to help students succeed and enrich our community
Some of the activities other churches have done in adopting a school include mentoring, prayer for families, prayer walks, thank you notes, and notes of encouragement to teachers and staff, etc. It all makes a difference.
Please adopt a school from our list of public and private schools in the Rapid City area. Contact that school to let them know your church has adopted them; then contact the Black Hills NDP Task Force at firstname.lastname@example.org to receive a support packet containing useful suggestions and information.
If your church is already engaged in such a program, please let us know about your activities so that we may share your successes with others.
Pray for eyes, heart, and wisdom to see where God is at work, and for the privilege to be a part of it - to be used by Him in some small way.
Thank you for helping our children.
